Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

             Objectives of the research are 1) to study personnel’s opinions on the application of the Gharavasa-dhamma in their work, 2) to compare personnel’s opinions on the application of the Gharavasa-dhamma, divided by personal factors, 3) to study the problems and recommendations regarding the application of the Gharavasa-Dhamma in their work, and 4) to study the ways of application of the Gharavasa-dhamma in their work by mixed methods of research, viz. doing quantitative research by collecting results of questionnaires filled by a sample of personnel, and doing qualitative research by collecting data from in-depth interviews. A sample of population of the study was 152 employees of Ba Hong Subdistrict Adminitrative Organization. The research instruments are questionnaires, analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Statistics for analysis of data are frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and interview. The researcher did data clustering and analyzed content datas.

Outcomes of the research  

             1) Most of personnel of Ban Hong Sub-district administrative Organization are female (83 female personnel; 54.60 percent of all personnel); 68 people (44.70 percent of personnel) were between 31-40 years old; 74 people (48.70 percent of personnel) have bachelor’s degrees; 101 people (66.40 percent of personnel) are married; 50 people (32.90 percent of personnel) have worked for over 10 years; Monthly incomes of 46 people (32.20 percent of personnel) are between 5,000 – 10,000 Baht; 49 people (32.20 percent of personnel) are sub-district officials; and the mean of opinions was at high level (  = 4.24) in every aspect.

 

             2) After comparison, it was founded that personnel’s difference in gender, age, qualification, and marital status caused no difference in opinion on the application of the Gharavasa-dhamma in their work. However, their difference in work experience, monthly incomes, and positions caused statistically significant difference in opinion on the application at the level 0.05

             3) For problems and recommendations regarding the application of the Gharavasa-Dhamma in their work, it was founded that some personnel are, not true to solve problems of people, not honest in work, not improve themselves, not altruistic, and not patient to problems. For recommendation, the organization should organize the training for personnel in how to apply the Gharavasa-dhamma in their work.

             4) According to the qualitative research, it was founded that most of sample of personnel attach importance to the Gharavasa-dhamma in their work, especially honesty, self-improvement, patience, problem solving with wisdom, and altruism for higher efficiency and effectiveness.
